Earlier today, I was thinking about how the personal touch (talking about communications) often gets lost in our social media society. When was the last time you picked up the phone and dialed someone's number - simply to say "hey, I just called to say I love you"? I'm not talking about emailing or texting; I'm not talking about a FB, Instagram, or Twitter post. I am talking about a good old fashion telephone conversation - where the receiver actually gets to say "hello" and you get to respond "hey, I just called to say...!
Lately, I have noticed that most of us are falling into the habit of non-verbal communications. See, it's not a generational thing. So, here's a challenge - and I will be the first to get onboard: for the next 52 weeks, I challenge you to pick up the phone and call at least one person (per week) - merely to let them know you are thinking about them. Will you accept this challenge?
Until you hear my voice on the other end of the phone, let me use this opportunity to say "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and thank you for supporting me in 2022".
Amen.
