Prior to retiring from the Federal Government in 2020, she served as the Senior Advisor for Administration with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation.
When she's not writing, Vanester enjoys teaching bible studies, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband, Rick (her high school sweetheart), have been married for over 47 years. They are the proud parents of two adult children, two grandchildren, and several godchildren. They enjoy each other’s company and happily reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is encouraged by one of her favorite scriptures: Being confident of this very thing, that he which began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Accordingly, she gives all the Honor, Glory, and Praise to God.
